Your voice, your data, your control.
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We treat your voice and your trust with care.
Privacy policy details
1. Information we collect
We collect information you give us, information that's created when you use Veylora, and a small amount of technical information from your device.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect basic details such as your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and a password. If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the identifiers and profile fields they share with us.
Profile and interests
You can tell us about your interests, topics you'd love to talk about, conversation preferences, languages, and an optional short voice introduction. This is what powers our matching.
Conversations
Veylora is voice-first. When you join a conversation, we process the audio in real time to connect you with the other person and to keep the conversation safe. We may retain limited audio or transcripts for safety, moderation, and abuse-prevention purposes — see Voice data, specifically below.
Reports and feedback
If you report another user, rate a conversation, or share feedback with us, we keep that information so we can act on it and improve the product.
Device and usage information
We collect basic technical information so the app works and so we can fix problems — things like device type, operating system, app version, language, approximate location (from IP), and crash diagnostics.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Match you with people who share your interests and conversation preferences.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Veylora service.
- Keep the community safe — detect abuse, harassment, and policy violations.
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and (if you opt in) news.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We don't use your information to build advertising profiles, and we don't sell it to anyone.
3. Voice data, specifically
Voice is at the heart of Veylora, so we want to be clear about how we handle it.
- Conversations are private. The audio in a Veylora conversation is meant for the people taking part in it. We don't broadcast, publish, or share it.
- AI listens for safety only. Automated systems may analyse the conversation in real time to detect things like harassment, hate speech, threats, or attempts to manipulate younger users. They do not eavesdrop for any other purpose.
- Limited retention for safety. We may retain audio snippets or transcripts for a short period to investigate reports, review moderation decisions, and improve safety systems.
- No model training without consent. We don't use the content of your conversations to train AI voice models or voice clones unless you explicitly opt in.
4. How we share information
We share information only in the ways described here:
- With other users. Parts of your profile (such as a display name, interests, and any optional intro you record) are visible to the people you're matched with.
- With service providers. We work with trusted vendors who help us run the service — hosting, voice infrastructure, analytics, email delivery, customer support, and abuse detection. They can only use your data on our instructions.
- For legal reasons. We may share information if required by law, a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Veylora, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer. If Veylora is part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred — we'll let you know before it becomes subject to a different policy.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Cookies and analytics
On our website (veylora.ai), we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how the site performs. Analytics cookies help us improve the site; they don't identify you personally.
In the app, we use similar technologies for essentials like keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, and measuring product performance.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after that to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Audio snippets and transcripts retained for safety purposes are kept only as long as we need them for moderation, review, and abuse prevention, then deleted or anonymised.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information — encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system can be perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe and to tell you quickly if something does go wrong.
8. Your rights and choices
You're in control of your data. You can:
- Access and review the information we hold about you.
- Correct information that's wrong or out of date.
- Export a copy of your data.
- Delete your account and the personal data tied to it.
- Withdraw consent for any optional processing (such as voice-model training opt-in).
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under laws such as the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, or similar regulations. To exercise any right, write to us at support@veylora.ai.
9. Children
Veylora is built for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
10. International data transfers
Veylora is operated from India, and we may process and store your information in India and in countries where our service providers operate. When we move data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as contractual protections) to keep it protected to the standard you'd expect at home.
11. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as Veylora evolves. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for material changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
